I had never heard of Apoquel before my brother's 2 chihuahuas (they were brothers) were prescribed Apoquel last week for chronic itching, but pronounced otherwise healthy by the vet. Both developed diarrhea within hours of receiving the first dose. He did not give them any more. One of them had to be euthanized the next day due to acute kidney failure. These dogs were healthy 7 year olds. Is it possible that this was caused by the Apoquel? Why else would the dog have kidney failure when nothing else changed? Are there any other reports of kidney failure following dosing with Apoquel?
