Hi Margaret,
I feel your pain. You should have been able to trust your vet to take care of your animals in the healthiest way possible. It's a heartbreak when you see your trust and dollars wasted.
Start slowly, start by learning more and making decisions for your animals as you go. This page is a great place to begin, and in it, start with getting a deep understanding of vaccinations. When you stop that practice, things will stop getting worse. Food to nourish the wolf inside is next, followed by dropping the poisons in flea and heartworm control chemicals. When you feel like you're ready to trust a vet again, try a homeopathically trained one. Linked on that page is another, Recommended Resources, in which there's an organization called the AVH. They list homeopathic vets, many of whom work by telephone if no one is near you.
All the best. The blindfold is coming off, and the light can hurt at first, but you'll get past that to see in a new, deeper way what truly vital animals look like and how to get them there.
We'd love to hear how you do.
