I simply cannot imagine injecting live viruses into a live being is ever going to have a good outcome. Does this ever happen in nature?
Only once, that I'm aware of: bite of a rabid animal. And that doesn't turn out that great, whether it's fatal (very low likelihood) or not.
There's always a great reference point when the next wild thing comes out from Science Knows Best: what's going on in the real world, the natural world, that supports this?
