As rabies is a human disease and public health concern, there's very little wiggle room when a rabid animal bites yours. You could perhaps titer test and/or ask for the antibody treatment, if that's even a possibility with bitten dogs (it is in people). Review the Rabies Compendium to see the quarantine provisions.
