This sounds like hospitals requiring the SHOT (Covid) before they do transplants! WTH!

I feel the same way. I waited till my now 3 yr old cat was almost a yr old to neuter so his immune system was stronger, they required the distemper and rabies at the Low cost animal clinic. But he will never get another shot. I agree you HAVE to spay or neuter them or they will spray and go into heat & breed. When I do have to bring into a vet for injury or whatever, when asked about his rabies (only required one) I tell them that he had his shot at the other vet clinic.

I hear you Karen. Same concerns and frustrations here. I live quite rural in MO and there are no low cost spay/neuter clinics anywhere close. Maybe a couple of hours drive away and I hate going to the city! Phone appts with a homeopath are wonderful but it doesn't get your pet the surgery they may need. It all stupid imo. You aren't even supposed to give a vax with a procedure for health reasons but reason seems to have gone right out the window.
I get pretty angry about the whole thing too and I don't have any answers right now.

If you look for a low cost spay/neuter clinic they typically won't require vaxs. In my case I had a few kittens that came from a colony with FIV and stated they should not be vaxed as it would severely harm them. They agreed and on we went. They're usually so overwhelmed with patients that they don't have time to point out "laws". They also did a fantastic job!
