Wow, nice work, Linda! I love your persistence and pluck to finally get your dog well. And, this is going to Evernote for future reference, as I'd not been aware of staph's affinity for lid problems. But there it is, in the materia medica: Recurrent styes. And, "Stye doesn't suppurate and break, but remains a hard nodule."
Thanks for sharing this. I (with the help of Evernote) will remember this when/if I'm ever presented with a chronic lid issue like this in a patient.
p.s. avoiding prednisone: a huge bonus. You knew better. Right on.
