Hi - the original article where I found the protocol on lifewithdogs.tv was revised last year to insist it was a myth and dangerous, and it is nowhere to be found - taken down in the name of misinformation and censorship. I have been using this method for several years throughout the season in upstate NY and it has always provided a negative heartworm test. What Candy has written is the protocol, and only the hops imported from Dublin, Ireland are effective, found in the Black Guinness Draught. I believe what she meant was that if you leave it out for a bit, carbonation (not the alcohol) will dissipate so your dog doesn't get gassy. If you dog has a negative snapdx test, follow the prevention protocol. I split the 2oz serving over two meals so they are not getting it all at once, and that is my preference.
