Replies on Apoquel : Dog Drug With a Dark Side - Homeopath Vet

My 13 year old dog has been on apoquel for over 2 years. His itching and sore skin made the decision for me. Either I try this or put him down to stop his suffering. he has thrived. Beautiful coat, sleeps all night. No scratching or sneezing. maybe it does not work on some peoples animals but Moey slept thru the night on the first dose. he has had no adverse side effects at all. Yes he is not well but that is because he has a bad heart and soon I will have no choice but to put him to rest but I am glad he has had over 2 years of happy, comfortable life.

@Lewis Cole...our black lab was prescribed Apoquel a few weeks ago because the Vet said the steroids were the cause of an infection she has. I guess steroids are not good for the immune system. We haven't given the Apoquel to her because I have been worried about it. After all these comments I am even more so. Your comments are making me lean toward it more so now. She's almost 11 yes old, and of course she's like our kid. We give her Benadryl nightly but doesn't help much. You pet her and she starts scratching...We feel for her and can't stand to see her so uncomfortable. She didn't start this until we moved to TX from OR 8 yes ago. We will keep an eye out & the first I see any kinda of side effect...then we'll stop.
