Good for you, Cheryl. There are no failures, in my mind, only learning opportunities. You've taken what you learned with your older GSD and are never going back to the old ways, so bravo!
Each thing we learn can be applied to the next animal we take on. It's one of the things I love about teaching. It's a process of continual improvement, and everyone benefits as we walk that path.
