Get her titered and you won't have to fly under the radar--
My catahoula had a serious reaction to vaccines last year--rabies and the booster for distemper, parvo, lepto, etc. were all given at the same time so I didn't know if it was one or more than one that she reacted to. When I took her in because of the reaction, my vet looked at me and said, "She might die." I said, "Don't you say that!"--she was two years old. I researched every avenue I could to find help. When she was a little puppy, I found info on Dr. Jean Dodd and on her site she has info re puppy shots and much more--titering info was there. This year when her shots were due, I took her in but said I didn't want anything for her but a heartworm test and a check up. I told him before I allow her to have any vaccines, I want her titered. He said he didn't do that---most people aren't willing to pay for that so he doesn't do it. I reminded him that last year he looked in my eyes and told me my dog might die---I told him, I went and took this puppy from her mom three years ago, (I purchased her) she didn't come looking for me so I feel it is my obligation to do the very best I can do for her. I told him I had done research and I know that Dr. Jean Dodd at HEMOLIFE (Diagnostic Division of Hemopet) does titers. He went on his computer looked it up and ---we titered this girl. Her results came back with EXTREMELY HIGH LEVEL immunity so my girl got no vaccines. Get your fur babies titered, it's a little more pricey than vaccines, but it is so much more healthy for the dog. The report with her results is accepted by Camp Bow Wow as documentation just as they accept shot records.
My precious dog before this one had to "go nite nite" because of cancer--cutaneous lymphoma. I've since learned that most of the immune system is in the "gut" and this dog had been treated with massive doses of antibiotics for and infection for quite a long time. Now I'm thinking that those antibiotics probably killed her immune system which left her vulnerable to the cancer.
