Comments on Stop Vaccinating: Reconsider Senior Dog Vaccination Schedule

I have more of a question than a comment, and hopefully this is okay to ask here. I am new to this and am on board of not vaccination. We will be getting a new puppy in late November and want to do right by him/her, so what if we need to go on vacation that requires us to board our dog? Is there a loophole for us to board him/her without big vet pharma vaccines?

My cat was neutered at 'No Nonsense Neutering' (for stray or feral cats or just a cheaper procedure than the vet) months before I got her. They give the rabies and other core vaccines at the same time as getting spayed. I took her for her 1st vet visit shortly after bringing her home and she received a 1-yr rabies shot at that time (this would be 2 shots in about 6-8 months). She is indoor only. She has received the 3-yr (required by law) on schedule ever since. Last December, because I refused the rabies shot for this 11 yr old indoor only cat who had received 5 rabies shots by the time she was 8 yrs old, the vet canceled her client profile, sent me her records and will not see my cat ever again. My dogs get the puppy series of shots only and the required every 3 yr rabies shot.

How do we go about changing the rabies law in certain states??!!

I’ve been saying no to vaccines for 11 years now and my conventional vet STILL questions me every single time, like my reasoning is going to change. I only use my conventional vet for annual bloodwork/urgent matters and the rest of the time, I consult with my holistic vet via phone consults which is so nice to have a DVM who shares your same philosophy. I’ve always been labeled as the difficult client because I say no to vaccines including rabies or the crazy one because I’ve always fed my pups raw but I feel like the tides are starting to shift. I’m hoping that the more people start advocating for their dogs, saying no to what doesn’t feel right and asking for informed consent can slowly change the convention vet model. We shall see. In 2017-2018 I lost my Border Collie brother and sister due to pressure from the county to get their rabies shots. They were 12 .
The dogs were out running in the afternoon sun the day I took them in to a local Supply store that had regular clinics. In less than 24 hours my precious girl couldn't stand or walk. By day three I had to have her put down.
Her brother, a true gift from God, quickly declined from an ever worsening heart murmur. He was put down in 2018. I filed a report with VAERS.
I have since found a holistic vet who doesn't give Rabies after 10. If I had her when I had my two BC's, she may have been able to save my boy at least.
The Rabies vacc has human fetal parts in it. See Aaron Siri's book, Vaccines, Amen. Heavy metals, of course and who knows what else.
Forced vaccinations are simply evil. Never again for my animals or for me.

I'm in Austin, TX. Btw, Dr. Will, you treated one of my rescue cats, MANY years ago, when you had your practice in West Austin. She had nonregenerative anemia.
My current vet told me TX law WILL NOT ACCEPT the titer as a replacement for the rabies vaccine. What can one do?

I have a 6lb.maltipoo that I only have gotten her the baby series of shots. No Rabies! 12 years old.
Now, I am in a pickle because she has a couple bad teeth that may need to come out.
I do not want to give her a bunch of shots just to have her teeth cleaned. All vets require the Rabies.
Is there any other option? Is there a detox I can do for the Rabies shot? I am beside myself, I don't want to do it
but if it gives her a problem I may have to .. Recommendations?

I have a rescue that was having mouth problems while eating so I took him to a new vet (fired my old one) and they said his teeth was so bad that they needed to come out. Long story short, they asked about vaccines which I told them because he's not healthy (he has ehrlichiosis) I don't vaccinate. They said o.k., but if he bites a staff member then he will need to go into quarantine. I said no problem.
Three months after his surgery he developed skin issues (bad) and every once in a while he will shake like he's cold. My question is, do you think they vaccinated him without telling me? I can't help but think that's why they don't hassle you about vaccines. They do it anyway. And then disguise the cost under a specific name.

They would not give us the pain pills unless we got the 3-year shots. Shortly after the 3-year shots health declined and passed away shortly after.

I have 4 shichon dogs and are 10 and 11 years old I have had every vaccination for them since they were 8 weeks old I make most of there dog food from a dog nutritionist now and they look half there age cam from UK and Dr Karen Becker. Vets told me years ago they need dog kibble and this wet food and that wet food. They got yeast infections under eyes and paws. 3 years ago I started looking for answers and now it's working I listen to real professional people who care thank you they are not getting vaccinated now I will talk to vet's about the way ahead thank you... 4 happy shichons.

How can the annual vac be stopped to better the health of our dogs ?

I saw the bad effects of over vaccinating when my 13 year old got some teeth work and shots all on the same day. His tiny body could not handle it and he developed an autoimmune disease called myasthenia gravis. He lived another 5 years only because of our loving attention and feeding care. I learned a hard lesson with him!

I also do not vaccinate my dogs (and I have a lot). I get a lot of attitude from the vets though but I don't care. Our animals need us to be advocates for them since they cannot speak. I also did not vaccinate my kids and they are all still alive and very healthy :) I had 4 of them. I add probiotics and powdered greens to their food, feed raw and/or cooked vegetables when I can.

In 1999 I immigrated to the USA from Australia and brought my 5 yo dog with me. From 5 years old on she received a yearly rabies shot. I trusted implicitly my vet's recommendation. At 10 yo, 1 month after her 6th shot she had an Addisonian crisis (she did not have Addison's disease prior to this- this was her presentation) when no-one was home. By the time we were, she was too far gone to save. I still had NO clue as to why this had happened to her, but a few months later I met a man whose dog nearly died from its yearly vaccinations and he spent thousands to save its life. He told me he took the manufacturer of those vaccinations (I dont recall if he ever told me the company's name)
to court and won. From that moment on my eyes were opened. If a court will find in favor of the dog owner, the practice of yearly vaccinations had no basis. Since that day I have done puppy shots and 1 rabies and fought to find vets who support that stand (which l have). I have learnt much along the way, including from you Dr Will, for which l am forever greatful.

My (now)13 yr.old Westie has had a paw licking/bleeding/allergies issue off and on the the last 1 1/2 yrs.She has had yearly vaxes all her life with the previous vet clinic I went to.I recently switched clinics and low and behold the vet there said the same thing your article explained,i.e.she doesn’t need them.So that is it,she is done with them.But I wonder could her issues(that no one can put an exact cause to)be the vaxes? After reading your wonderful article I would have to side on the affirmative.

I completely agree with you. This issue here is the law. Legally the vet is told what to do by local / state law. They say that every 3 years our dogs need rabies shot. Our two sibling Rat Terriers are going to be 17 years old this year. Sight and hearing greatly diminished, mobility / stability diminished and they are only around us in a back yard securely fenced or in our house and yet the law says they must be vaccinated. I believe it is abuse and am going to call our vet this am to see if they are allowed an exemption of some kind. Any thoughts that you have would be much appreciated.

My dog got 6 vaccines in one day before I adopted him four years ago. Since then he has had HORRIBLE ear problems, occasional reflux, had Lyme symptoms 3 years ago that was treated with homeopathy (yes, one of those 6 vaccines was for Lyme- hmpf!) has had a couple of focal seizures as well. I resolved no more vaccines- EVER! I decided not to register him so I wouldn’t be forced to vaccinate if I felt it wasn’t in his best interest- which it obviously isn’t. He’s 10. It’s not happening. I’m glad I don’t live in California.

There's a $500 fine for not licensing in CA and they refuse to license without a rabies shot. what am I supposed to do? they could stop me from getting car registration and driver's license renewal if I don't pay the $500 fine too.

Please help me with ANY suggestions you may have to help me reverse the damage my vet has done to my poor sweet angel, who is an 8 year old yellow lab. Not even a month ago, he was lively and vibrant running up and down the beach chasing the ball and now after he went in for his last round of shots he's barely able to walk/run. Just sleeps all day like a 14 year old, but he's only about to turn 9. I've spent lots of money on glucosamine, omega 3 oils, hemp/CBD oil, and switched to a ground beef/lamb/chicken liver diet with sweet potatoes, peas and such, but I just top his kibble with that and maybe that's not enough. The raw diet completely freaks me out - will he get sick from eating raw meat? I'm just devastated that my energetic young boy is basically hitting a brick wall :( :( :(
