I had a collie who received his distemper and parvo shots. I thought I had gone back and got his rabies but on checking the vet said no. So I went and got a rabies shot. I think the vet lied because this collie had a biting issue even with me and most times was affectionate but he was agressive with any puppies born.

Dr. Robb always did our Titer testing but sadly, he no longer will do them for anyone out of his state.

Yesterday we had a rabid raccoon at my place, discovered by my Sheltie, under one of our cars. I called him in, called the game ward when it became evident that it was rabid (late stage), A friend came over and shot it, and we disposed of it as the game warden directed. I told the story in detail on my Facebook page, and of course, someone asked, "Is he up to date on his rabies shots?", to which I replied, "Yes, he's up to date." I didn't mention that he's 6 years old and has had 2 shots in his entire life. I know the immunity is there and I'm not going to be frightened into unnecessary vaccination.
