I am just finding tbis page. Our 9 yr old soon to be 10 yr old dog was on apoquel for two seasons as she would scratch until she bled then just this past october, days before halllween she fell while jumping off a bed which is not at all like her as this is a dog that would go and jump on a trampoline when no one else was there to jump with. Anyways she came out of the room stumbling and we rushed her to the emergency vet only to find that we was diagnosed with an insulinoma. I mentioned this to our vet and her response was well she was on such a small dose of apoquel I don’t think that caused this. All I could think was oh really my once extremely active energetic dog is now on steroids and other things to keep her blood sugar even remotely stable. I would love to know if zoetis has ever witnessed a dog that they love dearly having a seizure because of a tumor growing on her pancreas and then have them sit with that dog in their own pee trying to get enough glucose into the dog to stop the seizure! I’m very angry by this as this “miracle drug” has taken away too may loving pets. If I could go back in time i would have refused the apoquel but I can’t do that instead I have to live with the guilt of knowing I gave her this pill that was slowly killing her every single day and there is nothing I can do to save her but try to make her remaining days happy!
